This was too good to pass up

(Stolen from [info]brigidsblest and [info]revia):

Every now and then the police arrest somebody suspected of some terrible, violent crime, and as a piece of public relations they'll announce all of the horrible books, movies and/or CDs they found in the suspect's house, as if to prove that the suspect is obviously guilty and horrible and monstrous.

So here is my challenge to you. You can either do this from memory or take a moment to look through your book and music collections, and then answer this question:

Name ten books, CDs and/or movies that you own that the police would cite as evidence against you at their press conference.

  1. "The Satanic Bible" by Anton Szandor LaVey (book)

  2. "The Satanic Witch" by Anton Szandor LaVey (book)

  3. "The Vampire Bible" (book)

  4. Everything by Bret Easton Ellis and Chuck Pahalaniuk (books)

  5. "Aleister Crowley: The Beast Demystified" by Roger Hutchinson (book)

  6. "Natural Born Killers" (movie)

  7. "Reservoir Dogs" (movie)

  8. "Pulp Fiction" (movie)

  9. "Suicidal Tendencies" by Suicidal Tendencies (CD)

  10. "Confessions of a Knife" by My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult (CD)

Lingerie - Red

My song for today...

Here she comes walking down the street
She's got something you would love to meet
It's her heart and her heart is black
Think of ice cream sliding into a crack

The heat sticks to summer's heavy sweat
Hang around, it'll get hotter yet
You got the shakes and it's gonna get worse
Don't you know its all a part of the curse

She's got the hit that takes you into space
Suck mud and make a deal for that taste
You got nothing but you're riding on a star
You couldn't guess that she could take you that far

Some things are so hard to say
Even though you'd say them every day
Don't let your life be the butt of a joke
Get your lips 'round a cool black Pepsi Coke

Here she comes...

Where I'm at right now...

I recently found out that Joe, the friend that I lived with for two months after my divorce, killed someone last weekend in a drunk-driving accident. I feel so conflicted. Joe was very good to me for those two months, and he helped me out with a lot of stuff (like picking me up after work, or helping me assemble my bedframe). I'm very grateful for everything he did. But Joe did some bad things, too, like moving my ex-husband in with him after I left. And he gave my best friend an STD (guy was messing around a lot behind her back) which led to her uterine cancer. She's been going through hell because he couldn't keep it in his pants.

Part of me wants to think this is some kind of karmic payback, that he has to deal with the consequences for the lifestyle he's chosen. And yet, I keep coming back to the poor 24-year-old girl whom he killed. If it was karma, why is she the one who's dead?

This whole situation, along with something else that has happened recently in my life, has me seriously rethinking the nature of the Universe.

Serious Dalek

(no subject)

Your result for The Social Persona Test (What kind of man/woman are you?)...

The Renaissance Faire Wench (QLAF)

Quirky Liberal Alpha Female

The hardest part about being the Renn. Faire Wench is that people often mistake you for a beta female. This is not so. You might be quite flirtatious, but you are hardly relient on men. You like to do things the mainstream would consider weird, (like dress in costume, perhaps?). Eat, drink, and be merry, but make sure whoever you date respects you and does not take advantage of your laid-back attitude. (BTW, you are likely the only type who can see That Creepy Guy (NLBM) for who he is, helping him to bring out the Manga Geek (QLBM) inside. This does not mean you have to date one, however. You are quite flexible and can enjoy the company of many of the types.)

You are more QUIRKY than NORMAL.

You are more LIBERAL than TRADITIONAL.

You are more DOMINANT than PASSIVE.

When picking a date, consider: The Lord of the Misfits (QLAM), The Fratt Boy (NLAM), The Snowball's Chance in Hell (QTBM), The Manga Geek (QLBM), or That Creepy Guy (NLBM).

Writer's Block: All About My Mother

Who is your favorite mother (the character, not the actress) from television or the movies?

View other answers

Morticia Addams. She truly loves Gomez and her kids, and she encourages her children to be themselves and explore their creativity. The Addams family were the one TV family that were not completely dysfunctional.

(For my students: hmm, potential QOTD here!)

Not that I've noticed, but it's possible.

  24. Don't you also hate it when when you finish something online and post it and then you see spelling errors, you have to go back and edit it?
Yes. And yet when I post this, it will have errors, and I will have to go back and fix it.

  25. Does your eye twitch?
Not in about a year. My doctor said it was somehow related to my migraines.

And to my new friend Van... I'll have to take a raincheck on that date. (It was the dress, wasn't it?) ;)
